The organisers of the ‘Phool Walon Ki Sair’ pageant on Wednesday wrote to Lieutenant-Governor V.Ok. Saxena claiming that they haven’t obtained an “official communication” from the Delhi Growth Authority (DDA), days after the L-G workplace introduced granting permission to conduct the pageant at its conventional venue at Aam Bagh in Mehrauli.
The organisers of the centuries-old pageant didn’t proceed with conducting the occasion, which was speculated to be held from November 2-8, after the DDA granted a “restricted permission” and postponed it to March 2026.
In a letter submitted to Mr. Saxena, Usha Kumar, secretary of the Anjuman Sair-e-Gul Faroshan society that organises the pageant, expressed gratitude for his intervention however stated that “they haven’t obtained a proper communication from the Delhi Growth Authority (DDA)”.
“We’ve got come to know from newspapers that you simply [V.K. Saxena] have intervened within the matter and that DDA has given permission to make use of Aam Bagh for the occasion.
