Panic gripped a high-rise residential tower in Mumbai after a pet canine allegedly turned aggressive inside an elevator and lunged at three younger women, a harrowing incident captured on CCTV that has gone viral on social media.
Based on the police, the incident occurred on Thursday (July 16, 2026), night at Sheth Irene tower within the western suburb of Malad.
No accidents had been reported to the authorities, and no criticism has been lodged, they mentioned, including that the resident had permission to take her pet within the elevate.
The CCTV footage, which went viral on social media, confirmed a lady coming into the constructing’s elevate along with her pet canine whereas the ladies had been already inside.
Shortly after the elevate doorways closed, the canine all of a sudden grew to become aggressive and lunged in direction of the ladies, inflicting panic contained in the confined house. The canine proprietor was seen making an attempt to restrain the animal because it tried to pounce on the ladies, the footage confirmed.
Because the elevate reaches its flooring, one of many women is seen speeding to exit the elevate, even because the canine tries to chase her earlier than the proprietor manages to drag it again, stopping any severe hurt.
No accidents had been reported within the incident. Nonetheless, the footage has gone viral on social media, triggering concern amongst residents, police mentioned.
