The Motor Accident Claims Tribunal in Thane has awarded a compensation of ₹31.43 lakh to the household of a person killed in a street accident, whereas holding him 15% contributorily negligent for staying too near the car forward.
In its order on Tuesday (July 8, 2026), the MACT directed the proprietor of a tempo concerned within the accident and its insurer to collectively and severally pay the quantity to the household of the sufferer, Rajaram Narayan Mhatre, with 9% curiosity each year from the date of the petition.
